It’s good to see economic growth at any level. I believe that once unfree countries get rich enough they will demand political freedom. But all in all, a frustrating graph.
Where’s this chart from?
Graph is sneaky. While economic growth and political freedom might not have a clear correlation, this chart would weight China’s growth disproportionately. It would be better to look at say on average how many countries do well economically and have political freedom, although this approach runs into its own set of problems.
